What are the dental Crowns?

These normally known as dental cap, this completely caps a tooth or dental implant, so that can restore the functions, shape, colour of original tooth or implant.

What are the crown options?


- Silver color or gold.
- Normally uses for back teeth.

PFM (Porcelain fused metal)

- Metal inner core (great for strength).
- Outer porcelain layer gives natural.

Porcelain or Ceramic

- They have a more natural look but are more complex to produce so are often more expensive than crowns which include metal.

Is it painful?

Your tooth is prepared for a crown under a local anaesthetic, and the procedure should feel no different from that of a filling. If you have a crown fitted following a root canal treatment, you may not even need a local anaesthetic
